In Kotwar, Pauri SSP Dilip Singh Kunwar told reporters in Kotwar that the Kotdwar Kotwali police, revealing the Shekhar massacre in Simmalchod area on August 13, arrested the two shooters who had carried out the murder case. According to the police, the shooters fired at the cable control room with the intention of threatening the cable operator of Kotdwar area and during this time, Shekhar standing on the verandah of the control room was shot. Both shooters were produced in court, from where they were sent to jail.
In fact, on August 13, at around 3:30 pm, unidentified miscreants shot dead Shekhar Chandra Dhondiyal, a resident of Mohalla Keshav Vihar-Chandrabani Road (Patel Nagar-Dehradun), working in the Shiva cable network in Simmalchoud. While the massacre arose in broad daylight, the functioning of the police was questioned. After the incident, SSP Dilip Singh Kunwar, who reached Kotdwar, constituted ten police teams under the leadership of ASP Pradeep Kumar Rai and started efforts to reveal the case. Meanwhile, an unclaimed bike was recovered by the police in Kotdwar itself. Investigation revealed that the bike belonged to the Luxor area of ​​Haridwar district and was robbed from Mangalore area on August 2. The police sent the photos from the CCTV footage to all the Haridwar as well as all the police station areas of Meerut, Bijnor, Muzaffarnagar. Efforts paid off and on Wednesday, the police revealed the case.
SSP Dilip Singh Kunwar said that following a tip-off on August 27, a police team led by Kotwali in-charge Manoj Raturi arrested two bike-riding youths at Village Gulalwali (Mandavali-Bijnor) Tirahe. The arrested youth include Bharatvir son Karnpal and Monu Malik son Yashpal, resident of Narsan Kala Badi, Mangalore police station area under Haridwar district. They told that both of them have also accepted the killing of Shekhar. During the investigation, a 32-bore pistol, a 315-bore pistol, six live cartridges were recovered from both. Police had earlier recovered the motorcycle used in the incident. SSP Dilip Singh said that the accused told in interrogation that at the behest of the notorious Rupesh Tyagi and Narendra Balmiki, they had fired in the cable control room. Told that the extortionist was to be recovered from the firing by threatening the cable operator.
