Kotdwar: The dead body of a 10-year-old girl missing from Monday evening under the police station area has been recovered by the police. Police said that the girl was murdered after raping her. The police have arrested the accused. Both the accused are Nepalese. A case has been registered against the accused in various sections including murder, pox. There is anger among the people of Kotdwar due to this incident.

Additional Superintendent of Police Pradeep Rai said that a local resident had lodged a police station in Kotwali on Tuesday 6th morning and told the police that his ten-year-old daughter, studying in class 5, was able to pick up the goods in a shop near the house at five o’clock on Monday evening. She had gone, but she has not returned home even late at night. He said that searches were carried out at nearby and relatives, but it could not be found anywhere. The police had registered a case based on the victim’s Tahrir. Police were searching for the girl since Tuesday morning. The ASP said that the team was formed under the leadership of trainees DSP Pallavi Tyagi and Kotwal Manoj Raturi. The police team investigated footage of CCTV cameras installed in the area. In which a person was seen carrying the baby with him. On Wednesday afternoon, the police arrested the man appearing on CCTV from Gadighat.

In the interrogation of the police, the person named his name 28-year-old Padam Putra Kalu Singh, a resident of Prajapati Nagar. When the police questioned the person about the incident, at first he was responding to the breakup. When questioned with strictness, he told that he took him along with the 31-year-old Ashok son Surat Singh, a resident of Jhulabasti, on Monday evening, with the promise of feeding the girl with samosa. After this, he took the girl to Ugi bushes behind the godown built inside the railway station nearby. Where he raped the child and then murdered her. The police also arrested another accused, Ashok, from Gaighat. On Wednesday afternoon at the behest of both the accused, the police recovered the mutilated body of the girl from the railway premises.
