Phase 6 of the Lok Sabha election: 62.02% turnout recorded

With millions coming out to vote in the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections, a turnout of 62.02 percent was recorded. The Lok Sabha election’s sixth phase took place in 59 parliamentary constituencies across seven states— Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, West Bengal, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, and Jharkhand.

In the sixth polling phase in West Bengal on Sunday, 80.16 percent of the electorate voted amid widespread violence. A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker from Gopiballabpur, Jhargram, identified as Ramen Singh (30) sustained a severe head injury after being hit with an iron rod. He had been rushed to a hospital where he had been declared dead.

The final turnout recorded in the sixth polling phase in different states is West Bengal – 80.16 percent, Delhi – 57.50 percent, Haryana – 64.72 percent, Uttar Pradesh – 54.17 percent, Bihar – 59.29 percent, Madhya Pradesh – 61.81 percent, and Jharkhand recorded 64.50 percent of voters on Sunday until 5 p.m.
