Justice Madan Lokur made non–resident judge of Fiji Supreme Court

Judge of the Supreme Court of Justice Madan B Lokur was appointed as a judge of the Supreme Court of Fiji’s non-resident panel. For the Indian judiciary, this is a rare honor. For three years, he will hold office. Although he received the offer on 31 December 2018— the day he retired from India’s Supreme Court, from 15 August this year Justice Madan Lokur will assume his new role.

Before being elevated to the Supreme Court, he was Gauhati High Court Chief Justice and the Andhra Pradesh High Court.

Fiji’s Supreme Court has three sessions a year. The session will be joined by Justice Lokur from 15 August to 30 August 2019. Other countries from which Fiji invited judges to join the Supreme Court are Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa
