
Lokjan Today, Nainital: The High Court has dismissed the reconsideration petition for waiving the dues of government housing and other facilities of former chief ministers of the state. The petition was filed on behalf of former Chief Ministers Vijay Bahuguna and Bhagat Singh Koshyari. The court reserved the verdict after completing the hearing in the case. A division bench of Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice Ramesh Chandra Khulbe, having pronounced the verdict, today dismissed the reconsideration petition. Now the former chief ministers have to collect the outstanding rent.
Former Chief Minister Bhagat Singh Koshyari and Vijay Bahuguna had filed a review petition in the High Court. In which he appealed to reconsider the order to recover the rent of former chief minister at market rate. Former Chief Minister Bhagat Singh Koshyari has said in his review petition that he is being charged rent at the rate of Rs 30500 per month. Koshyari has said that the accommodation allotted to him is the property of the Irrigation Department and the rent should also be recovered by the Irrigation Department even though the notice of rent has been given by the government. Similarly, former CM Vijay Bahuguna has also appealed to reconsider the order to collect rent at the market rate. The rent of Bahuguna’s house has been fixed at around 39 thousand per month. Koshiyari owes a total of 47 lakhs and Vijay Bahuguna’s 37 lakhs.
