Five people sued for dowry harassment

Lokjan Today, Raiwala: On the night of the death of a newly married woman in Chandrabadni Colony of Gram Sabha Raiwala, police station Thane Raiwalla’s police has set a case of dowry harassment on five people, including her husband, on the basis of complainant’s father.

Khandgaon resident Yashpal Singh Negi told the police in a complaint that his daughter was married to Abhishek Chauhan, a resident of Rai, about nine months before June 30. A few days after the marriage, Abhishek and his father Amar Singh, mother Masanti Devi, Nand Anamika and Abhi Lasha started torturing Archana to bring less dowry. This was revealed to Archana in October last, after which he explained to Archana’s husband, Abhishek. On Saturday night, Abhishek’s father, Amar Singh, was informed about Archana’s suicide by phone. After this, when he reached Archana’s in-laws’ house, the people present there refused to give the information about Archana and used abusive language.

Yashpal Singh Negi has alleged that his daughter has been murdered in a planned manner for dowry. A case has been registered in respective section against Abdeena Abhilasha and Anamika, Archana’s husband Abhishek, Masanti Devi and Amar Singh. On Friday night, at eight o’clock on Friday night, Archana Chauhan (24), wife of Chandrabhadini Colony, wife Abhishek Chauhan committed suicide by hanging in her in-laws house.
