Expelled four times, Deep Sharma joins Congress

Lokjan Today, Rishikesh: Deep Sharma, who has been the president for three consecutive terms in the Rishikesh Nagar Palika Council, finally took the Congressman’s hand in the presence of Congress national president Rahul Gandhi. Although he has been expelled four times on contesting the election against the party candidate.

Deep Sharma, a three-time municipal president, had filed nomination as an independent candidate in the last assembly election. He was in third place with eighteen thousand votes. After the formation of the municipal corporation, he had fielded his wife in the women’s seat. In the election, she remained second. Congress candidates remained third. Deepa has contested independently three times in the elections without getting ticket from Congress. It is also noteworthy that in the last assembly and Lok Sabha elections, he had made a comeback in the party. After the municipal formation , he brought his wife Bina Deep Sharma to the fray. Then he was expelled for the fourth time.
Deep Sharma said that in the presence of Congress national president Rahul Gandhi in Haridwar on Saturday, he has taken the Congress membership.
