Why the High Court issues notice to the legislator

The Nainital High Court hearing the PIL filed in the case of caste certificate of BJP legislator Deshraj Karnwal from Jhabrera of Haridwar. During this time the court issued a notice to the legislator.

Court has instructed Haridwar District Collector Dipendra Chaudhary to get them notices The matter was heard in the court of Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice Alok Kumar Verma. Earlier, on behalf of the government, the court was told that the matter of Caste Certificate of Jhabreda legislator has been moved to the inquiry committee. It has not been finally passed on behalf of the inquiry committee. The meeting of the committee is scheduled to be held on July 16. This case has been challenged by local resident Vipin Tomar.

It is to be mentioned that the petitioner has alleged that the certificate belonging to Scheduled Caste has been received incorrectly by Karnwal. MLAs are originally from Uttar Pradesh whereas the certificate is related to Uttarakhand. No decision is being taken on behalf of the inquiry committee.
