Leopard dies in accident on National Highway

In the past two months, as many as 15 wild animals have been found killed by speeding vehicles on National Highway 74 near Haridwar forest division. The latest instance is that of a leopard which was killed on the same highway on Tuesday. A tiger was found crushed on the busy road just four months ago. Forest officials said that despite several reminders to the National Highway Authority of India. neither speed breakers nor sign boards to slow down the vehicles’ speed have been set up. The Haridwar-Najibabad route sees a flurry of vehicles every day and the traffic usually rises during after the Char Dham yatra commences.
