JE and SSO suspended over Power Theft , one got dismissed.

Lokjan Today, Dehradun:  In Gadarpur biggest power theft issue till date has been identified. Here, electricity was being stolen for months by adding a personal transformer from the 11 KV line on behalf of Yashoda Floor Mill owner. After the action of Vigilance, the energy corporation has suspended a JE and SSO on the first hand involved in the theft of electricity. While the service of an SSO of Self Help Group has been terminated. In the theft, the collusion of other officers and staff of the department is also being investigated.

The energy corporation was getting constant information that the power was being stolen for several months at Yashoda Floor Mill in Gadarpur. The complaint was initially investigated then the information was found correct. After which a team of Energy Corporation and Vigilance was formed under the leadership of ADO Avvika Yadav of the respective area. When the team raided the mill on the night of 20 April, there was about 100-kilowatt electric power in the hold.

Malik Ajay Pandey of Yashoda Floor Mill was directly stealing electricity from his residence for a period of several months, adding a personal 800 MVA transformer in 11 KV power line. During the whole night and till 21 April morning, the corporation and the Vigilance team seized the connection of the mill with the confiscation of the transformer and recovered 90 KV of 11 KV from there.

On the other hand, after getting involved in the theft of electricity, the energy corporation suspended the junior engineer Mahendra Kumar, SSO Narayan Singh. While the services of Self Help Group ended the services of Umesh Kumar. BCK Mishra, Managing Director, Energy Corporation said that the role of some other employees may also be exposed in this case. That is why the investigation is going on. In the case, the role of SDO Girish Chand Arya in the respective area has also been questioned. The corporation is also preparing for action on them. Since it has approval from the government, hence the corporation has sent the file to the government for approval.
