Businessmen protesting against encroachment campaign

Lokjan Today, Rishikesh: Municipal corporation; Local businessmen held talks with deputy district officer and city commissioner on Wednesday about anti-encroachment campaign being run by Rishikesh and Tehsil administration. Merchants said that traders are being harassed in the name of encroachment.
It is notable that on Tuesday, the municipal and tehsil administration started the campaign against encroachment in the city area. The encroachment on the road on Dehradun road, Haridwar road was removed. Meanwhile, municipal employees had seized some shopkeepers. The angry businessman reached the Municipal Corporation on Wednesday. The traders talked about the encroachment by the Deputy District Magistrate, Shikesh and the Municipal Commissioner. Merchants said that the their belongings were seized by the Municipal Corporation yesterday, which is wrong. The traders assured that they would fully cooperate with the administration to remove the encroachment. but, do not harass traders unnecessarily. Both sides agree that no dealer will keep their luggage in the middle of the drain. Encroachment within 80 feet of National Highway will be removed. On this occasion, the city commissioner was requested in connection with the cleaning of the drains of the town and disposal of the problem of livestock animals. Jaidutt Sharma, Subhash Kohli, Satyavir Singh Tomar, Pradeep Kohli, Lalit Mohan Mishra were present on this occasion.
