The police have registered a case against the owner of Himalayan View Trekking Agency in connection with the Sahastra Tal trek accident. A 22-member team from Karnataka had gone on the Silla-Kush Kalyan-Sahastra Tal trek through this agency, where nine trekkers died due to cold.

The action taken by the Uttarkashi police has certainly proven that agencies engaging in improper trekking practices need to be cautious. Everyone is praising SP Arpan Yaduvanshi’s decision. It should be noted that in the past few years, many trekkers have lost their lives during trekking. After the police action, it is likely that such incidents will now be prevented.

According the Police stated that trekkers over 70 years of age were included in the trekking team, and no medical check-up was conducted. It was inappropriate to have elderly individuals navigate such high-altitude locations like Kush Kalyan. The agency also did not provide the necessary equipment and resources related to trekking to the guides who accompanied the trekkers.
