Notes worth two Lakhs seized from vehicle at Dharmawala Barrier.

Lokjan Today Dehradun: A police team along with a flying squad under the reporting police station of Dharmawala, intercepted an alto car coming from the Kulhal area, during a routine checking procedure. On further inspection, cash worth Rs 2,000,00 was found in the bonnet of the car, registeration number UH16-4647. The driver, Dhiraj Kumar son Om Prakash, resident of Baragiwala police station, Sahaspur, Dehradun said that the car belonged to Rajaram’s son Sunil who is a resident of Harbarpur Dehradun and he was just driving it from Kulhal. On asked to produce a clerance, bank passbook, PAN Card, business documents etc, the driver failed to do so. As per the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India, compliance of Model Code of Conduct, intensive checking is being done at all the places in the district, in which an inter-state barrier in the chowki area is set where continuous checking is being done 24-hours a daay . During the same checking, the above amount of cash has been recovered. The stationary surveillance team handed it over to Dharmawala Magistrate RP Singh. The recovered property has been seized and submiited to the Dharmawala Police station. The information was given to the Deputy Collector, Vikas Nagar, Income Tax officials and other police officials. The advance proceedings have been started as per the rules and in connection with the recovery of the cash, the information is being sent separately to the concerned officer appointed.
