A new virtual phone number service has been launched which is the first virtual phone number service for India named Doosra.

What is a virtual phone number?

A virtual phone number is a service that provides you with a phone number without a sim card that you can use to provide at grocery stores, web sites and other telemarketing services that bombard your phone with spam calls but as they require your phone number to register you have no way to escape this problem.

To avoid such scenarios a virtual phone number comes in handy.

How it works?
A virtual phone number service provides you with a mobile number which blocks all incoming calls which are redirected to the voicemail and can be listened through an app installed on your phone it can also receive SMS which can be accessed by the app.
The app also provides you with an option to call the number if required with free minutes included in the subscription.

What can doosra not be used for?
Your doosra number cannot be used to register with Whatsapp and other services that require authentication from mobile number like banking apps.

How much does it cost?
Doosra currently has 2 plans for users to choose from.

1. Half yearly plan costing INR 499 for six months with 100 minutes of secure call back per month.
2. Yearly plan costing INR 699 for 12 months with 100 minutes of secure call back per month.
