
Dehradun: The Trivendra Singh Rawat government of Uttarakhand has announced a pension for acid attack victims. Recently, inspired by the film ‘Chhapak’ on the life of acid attack survivor Lakshmi Agarwal, the Uttarakhand government has proposed a pension of Rs 7 to 10 thousand to the state’s acid attack Victims.
The scheme was announced by State Women and Child Welfare Minister Rekha Arya. He said during the announcement of the scheme- the government is starting a pension scheme, which will give a pension of 7 to 10 thousand rupees to acid attack victims every month. He informed that it will be put up for approval in the state cabinet meeting soon.
There are 10 victims of such attacks in the state. These people are currently living in Haridwar, Nainital and Udhamsingh Nagar districts. On this very special decision of the Uttarakhand government, the director Meghna Gulzar tweeted that this was the purpose of making the movie. Let me tell you that this film has grossed around 12 crores so far.
