Liverpool will be without forward Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino facing Barcelona in their semi-final Champions League second leg as they look to overthrow a 3-0 deficit, manager Juergen Klopp said Monday.

In Saturday’s 3-2 Premier League win at Newcastle United, Egypt’s international Salah took off the pitch with a head injury and did not recover for the game against Barca at Anfield on Tuesday.

Brazilian Firmino has a muscle injury and has not been included in the St James ‘ Park squad for Saturday’s game. “For tomorrow, they’re not both available,” Klopp said to a news conference.

“It’s a concussion for Mo. He would not be allowed to play. He feels Ok but it’s not good enough from a medical point of view. He’s desperate but we cannot do it.”
