Roorkee: Park weeps tears of uneasiness…

Roorkee: While Roorkee is known as the city of education, now Solani Park is seen shedding tears at its plight due to the negligence of public representatives here.

Let us tell you that this park, created by the Irrigation Department and Municipality Roorkee in 2001, was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister Bhagat Singh Koshyari which became a famous tourist place for the people of Roorkee and people from far and wide came to have a picnic here. But after a few days, gradually its situation went from bad to worse. Now it has been realized that huge shrubs have come out in this park and here snakes and birds have come in large numbers and even big lights have become mere showpieces and have become dilapidated. Along with this, anti-social elements have also taken over this park, due to which the local people are now worried about the status of this park.

Many times the local people have complained to the concerned officials about the beautification of this park, but the public representatives and top officials are still silent in this matter. Now it will have to be seen whether or not any department or public representative pays attention to this park built at a cost of millions of rupees.
