Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami has taken the incident of attack on police and administration officials and the spread of unrest in the area during the removal of illegal construction in Banbhoopura, Haldwani, seriously. He has given strict directives to ensure peace and law enforcement in the area to all relevant authorities.

In this regard, on Thursday evening, Chief Minister convened a meeting at the Chief Minister’s residence with Chief Secretary Smt. Radha Ratudi, Director General of Police Shri Abhinav Kumar, and other senior officials to review the situation. While appealing to local residents to maintain peace, the Chief Minister has instructed for strict action against unruly elements. He emphasized on taking stringent action against those responsible for this incident to ensure peace in the region. He made it clear that no one should be exempted from law enforcement in the state. Administrative officials are continuously striving to maintain law and order in the area.

The District Magistrate has informed the Chief Minister over the phone that a curfew has been imposed in the troubled area of Banbhoopura and orders have been given to shoot on sight at rioters to maintain normalcy.
