New Delhi: Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi and informed about the preparations for the Maha Kumbh to be held in Haridwar in the year 2021. For the efficient management of Kumbh Mela, more than one thousand crores of work will be done for the successful operation of Maha Kumbh which runs between January 2021 to April 2021. The Chief Minister requested the Central Government for financial support in view of limited resources of the state.
He said that in the year 2010, 8 crore devotees from India and abroad had come to the Kumbh Mela held in Haridwar. More than 15 crore devotees are expected to attend the Kumbh Mela to be held in 2021. For such large number of pilgrims, permanent and temporary facilities are being developed on a large scale. The Kumbh area is being expanded.
The work-related to infrastructure such as road, electricity, drinking water supply, ensuring law and order, medical facility, sanitation and garbage disposal, residential and parking system and expansion of the Kumbh Mela area is being done.
During the meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Trivendra gave information about the works of Kedarnath reconstruction. The Prime Minister said that Kedarnath should be constructed on a mission mode. Chief Minister Trivendra Rawat informed the Prime Minister that the Devasthanam Board has been set up in the state for Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, Yamunotri, and their nearby major temples.
The Chief Minister said that the Mukhyamantri Marginal Area Development Scheme is being launched to provide livelihood and basic facilities in the villages of the border areas of the state. For this, he requested the Central Government to provide a special package. The state government is making every effort to prevent migration from the border areas of the state.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Trivendra requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the launch of ‘Wellness Summit’ to be held in April 2020. The Chief Minister said that the work of 305 wellness centers in the state has been completed. All 462 wellness centers will be completed by March 2020.
Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said that the work of Dobra Chanti, the country’s largest motor cable bridge, has been completed. He invited the Prime Minister to inaugurate this bridge.
During his meeting with the Prime Minister, Chief Minister Trivendra said that the sewerage treatment project and other approved works under Namami Gange will be completed by November 2020.
Many efforts have been made by the state government towards labor reforms. Expressing satisfaction over the efforts being made by the state government, the Prime Minister said that special efforts should be made in the direction of GST collection to increase financial resources in the state. Chief Minister Trivendra informed the Prime Minister that after the Investors Summit 2018 in Uttarakhand, an investment of Rs 19 thousand crores has been done so far. On this occasion, the Chief Minister requested the Government of India for approval of the 300 MW Lakhwar Power Project There was also discussion about the flow and flow of Yamuna.
Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat told the Prime Minister that Uttarakhand has got a good ranking in the governance index given by NITI Aayog in the year 2019. In the field of Commerce and Industry, Uttarakhand has been ranked first in the Himalayan States and 9th in the country, second in the Himalayan States and 6th in the country in Human Resource Development. Himalayan states have got the first rank in public infrastructure and 10th in the country, Himalayan states have got the first rank in economic governance and second in the country, while in the overall ranking of NITI Aayog, Uttarakhand has been ranked second in the Himalayan states and 10th in the country…
The Chief Minister also informed Prime Minister Modi about the progress of All Weather Road and Rishikesh-Karnprayag Rail Line, on which the Prime Minister expressed satisfaction.
